v0.9.1

October 2026

A big step forward in everyday usability

With a solid baseline for quality in place, we turned to your feedback on the experience of using Metagem. You asked for faster triage, simpler edits to the knowledge graph and an easier way to give feedback. This release brings those improvements together, with a cleaner interface and fewer steps between spotting an issue and deciding what to do about it.

Highlights

  • The app has the new Metagem look, with a light violet sidebar, a new logo and a full dark mode where every screen stays readable.
  • An item's window opens on its definition, impact and links. Edit, Certify, Reject and Archive sit at the top right.
  • The Context and Data lists open in a Compact view with each item's type, location, owner and domain, so more items fit on one screen. Hover over a location to see it in full.
  • The item window and Quick review use clean white boxes and a compact header, so the content is easier to read. Long item names wrap neatly beside the buttons.
  • The Data overview shows Systems and Documents cards, each with a breakdown of its items, and tells you how many elements come from your documents.

Know What To Fix First

You no longer have to browse to find work. Every area opens on where you stand, Findings ranks what to fix by impact and effort, and you can correct how items connect on the spot. Two new sources — your Confluence wiki and official business registers — come in the same way as the rest.

Highlights

  • Findings opens on the work worth doing first: Start here cards for the highest-impact items, and a quadrant that plots impact against effort so the quick wins stand out.
  • Each finding states which aspect of quality it concerns and which check raised it, and you can filter on both.
  • Open one to see the counts and patterns behind it — never personal details, and you choose per project whether those numbers are kept at all.

A More Insightful Platform

The engine now produces 84% better output, measured with a scoring framework we published. Insights is now Findings: two ranked to-do lists plus a dashboard per business domain. Every business term shows where it came from, anyone can leave feedback, and suggested edits go straight to the right reviewer.

Highlights

  • We reworked how the engine reads your sources and writes results. Against our test set, the quality of what it generates went up 84%: clearer definitions, far fewer invented terms, and cleaner links between concepts.
  • To prove it, we published the first framework for scoring ontologies written by AI. It grades four things: is the definition clear, is it factually right, does the structure hold together, and does it cover what it should. The draft paper is below.

Plugging the Power of our Engine into Workflows

You can now build and run multi-step jobs by dragging them together on a canvas, with honest progress, a pause button, and review steps for a person. And a pile of documents can now become a knowledge graph from start to finish.

Highlights

  • Build a job by dragging steps onto a canvas and connecting them. You can only connect steps that fit together, so you can't draw a job that won't run. The step library shows only steps that actually work, grouped by what they do.
  • Saving and running are separate, and you can test a single step on its own. While a job runs you see real progress: long steps are followed to the end instead of being marked done the moment they start.
  • You can stop a step mid-run, and continue a job that is waiting for someone to review it.

A Sharper Model, Real Sessions, and a Faster App

The catalog and knowledge graph now use clearer object types, signing in keeps you signed in, responsibilities are assigned in one dialog, and the whole app is noticeably faster.

Highlights

  • Tables, documents and columns used to all be one generic "asset". They are now separate types, so the catalog, filters and detail pages call each thing what it is. Everything you already had shows up under the new types on release day.
  • Business concepts now belong to a domain (Customer, Supplier, Finance and so on). You can filter by domain in the term and concept lists, and set or correct it from a dropdown while editing.
  • Lineage and related-items panels follow the new model.
  • Creating, editing, linking and deleting works against the updated platform, and every change is recorded under the name of whoever made it. A metric can no longer be saved without its calculation.
